This case report presents a 62-year-old male diagnosed with Vasovagal Syncope. The patient presented to the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at En Chu Kong Hospital on August 2, 2023, and his chief symptoms of dizziness, fatigue, chest tightness, palpitations, and frequent pulse sensation bothered him. From the aspects of traditional Chinese medicine, the syndromes could be classified as stagnation of liver and spleen deficiency, yin deficiency of heart, and outward dispersion of pseudo-hyperactive yang. The medicine treats these symptoms and causes by dispersing stagnated liver qi and strengthening spleen, and nourishing yin for suppressing pseudo-hyperactive yang. The treatment primarily consisted of a combination of Gui Zhi Long Gu Mu Li Decoction, Zhi Gan Cao Decoction, and Xiao Yao San, with modifications including Huangqi, Baiziren, Zhishi, and Xiebai. After six months of treatment and follow-up, the patient effectively improved the symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, chest tightness, palpitations, and frequent pulse sensation. This case report showed that TCM therapy could effectively alleviate the complicated symptoms of vasovagal syncope, providing a reference for the treatment of related conditions with TCM therapy.
