Background: China’s New Coronary Pneumonia was raging all over the world, it was necessary to develop infection control measures in the Taipei metropolitan model of long-term care system for traditional medicine in order to cope with the risk exposure of the elderly in Taiwan. Methods: This study used a two-stage mixed qualitative method to analyze the epidemic environment context of the metropolitan area. After the data was selected, a guide structure was established to form the contents one by one. Result: The analysis of infection control in TCM long-term care institutions was divided into education training, health education promotion, staff health management, service target health management, visitor control, case notification and disposal, notification of severe pneumonia with novel pathogens risk personnel, and standard protective measures as six major categories; however, the standard protective measures were subdivided into hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and coughing section, personal protective equipment, environmental cleansing and disinfection, fabric cloth sheet treatment and waste disposal as six items as well. Conclusion: Through appropriate guidelines for epidemic prevention in TCM long-term care institutions, the prevention and treatment of new coronary pneumonia clusters had excellent traditional cultural protection in senior long-term care population. Research on health education training, health practitioners, elderly services, visitor control, case notification, quarantine notices and standard protective measures, with the characteristics of local Chinese medicine sense and control of epidemic prevention did make important contributions to COVID-19 prevention.
