Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physicians’ medical education and training in Taiwan have improved and divided into five department by the efforts of Minister of Health and Welfare, which included Chinese Medicine Internal Medicine, Chinese Medicine Gynecology, Chinese Medicine Pediatric, Chinese
Medical Acupuncture, and Chinese Medicine Traumatology. The society of each TCM department certificated its own specialist but did not establish objective assessment of training courses standards, tutors criteria, training institutions standards, validations principles, which block physicians’ training system and impede development of TCM specialist.
The aim of the study is to achieve the establishment of "TCM specialist system" in objective through consensus meeting by experts of industry, government, academia. Meanwhile, The society of each TCM department under instruction set its own specialist training courses standards by the baseline of TCM specialist training couse, institutions identification and validations principles. The first TCM division project would be promoted by Chinese Medicine Society of Acupuncture, which was verified by consensus meeting by experts.
The result of the study suggested the establishment the Traditional Chinese Medicine specialist system in the future, whcih strengthens the professional TCM division training and the quality of Chinese medical care.
